MISSION
Our mission is to serve as a research framework for ICCAC members, providing strategical steps and opportunities in creating research projects for the betterment of the MCS Patient. and the MCS community.
VISION
The vision for the Research Committee is to provide avenues to increase amount of Nursing and Allied Health VAD Clinician Research, through grant assistance, and educational opportunities. We want to foster all of this regardless of what your expertise in research is!

RESEARCH MENTORING
Have a research idea but don't know where to start? Have some questions and would like to know if that's a research idea?
Need guidance of funding? How to do statistical analysis?
Just shoot us an email at research@vadcoordinator.org and the research committee members will provide support and mentoring
ICCAC RESEARCH GRANT
Deadline: 08/15/2026
Purpose: support research focused on one of the following:
- Improving VAD or tMCS patients' outcomes
- Improving quality of life for VAD patients
- Supporting or facilitating VAD or tMCS clinicians' work
Amount: up to $4,000
Number of grants: 2
Review Process and Notification:
- Selection of the grant recipient will be made by an expert review committee
- Applicants must be active ICCAC members at the time of submission
- Grants will be scored on the basis of study aims, significance, innovation, research approach, feasibility.
- All applicants will be notified as to whether or not they have been selected to receive the research grant by September 15 2026.
- The term of the grant will be two years beginning October 2026 through September 2028. Recipient must remain an ICCAC member through the term of the grant.
- Awardees will present their research and results through ICCAC webinar.
- Recognize ICCAC sponsorship

2027 Presentation/Publication TRAVEL Award
Deadline: 09/30/2026
Purpose: support ICCAC members' attendance at conferences to present their research and disseminate their presentation.
- Invited Speakers
- Accepted oral presentations
- Accepted posters
Amount: up to $1,500
Other benefit: Awardees' presentation will be promoted via ICCAC channels
Number of grants: 2
Review Process and Notification:
- Selection of the grant recipient will be made by an expert review committee
- Applicants must have been active ICCAC members since 2024
- The grant must be used for travel between October 15 2026 and June 30 2026
- Grants will be scored on the basis of significance, research content and innovation of the presentation/poster.
- Recipients of 2025 ICCAC research grants or travel grants are not eligible to apply for the 2027 Travel grant
- All applicants will be notified as to whether or not they have been selected to receive the Travel grant by October 15 2026.
- The grant can be awarded pending acceptance to the conference.
- Awardees will acknowledge ICCAC support during their presentation.
- Awardees will write a short statement to be published on the research committee website and might be disseminated via social media.
