International Mechanical Circulatory Support Day

Esteemed Colleagues,

International Consortium of Circulatory Assist Clinicians (ICCAC) wish to present a proposition that resonates deeply with our collective commitment to harnessing breakthroughs in life-saving technologies: the establishment of an International Mechanical Circulatory Support Devices Day, to be observed on the 7th of JulyMCS devices offer a beacon of hope to individuals across the globe, restoring the promise of a dignified existence replete with treasured moments alongside loved ones. Despite their transformative impact, the stories of those reliant on such devices remain largely untold. Designating a day in the annual calendar aims to rectify this, celebrating the courage and resilience inherent within this community.
The significance of this day is multifaceted:
It illuminates poignant stories of resilience, fostering inspiration and awareness.
It encourages dialogue addressing the emotional, physical, and social dimensions of living with these devices.
It promotes innovation and investment in mechanical circulatory support research and patient-focused care.
It honours the legacies of those who have departed and celebrates the lives and achievements of those who thrive.
To enrich this initiative, we propose sharing stories from your centre on the 7th of July to showcase our global interconnectedness and the rich diversity of experiences of those supported by this technology.
I earnestly seek your endorsement and collaboration in actualising this initiative. Together, let us honour the humanity, science, and resilience embodied by this remarkable technology.

With kind regards,
Shishir Kore

ICCAC Secretary Elect

Lead Ventricular Assist Device Coordinator

International Mechanical Circulatory Support Day is dedicated to raising awareness and celebrating the lives of those supported by mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices. These life-saving technologies help patients with heart failure live longer, fuller lives while providing hope, strength, and renewed independence. This day is an opportunity to recognize the resilience of patients.

Why We Celebrate

  • Honoring patients and their incredible strength and resilience
  • Celebrating journeys and achievements of MCS patients
  • Raising awareness about mechanical circulatory support devices and heart failure care
  • Recognizing innovation in life-saving cardiac technology and patient care

Join the Celebration

On July 7, we invite our community to come together in support of MCS patients and families. Help us spread awareness, share patient stories, and celebrate the impact of mechanical circulatory support devices worldwide.
