VAD Coordinator of the Year Award

Image result for stay tuned

The VAD Coordinator of the Year Award was presented during the Annual ICCAC Virtual Meeting June, 17th, 2020. We are excited to announce that Tim Robbins, BSN, RN is this year's recipient!

Tim has been active in the VAD Coordinator community for the past several years. He contributes to ICCAC by participating in board calls and even helping others on MCS collaboration.  He volunteers to take lead on projects to improve the VAD coordinator experience including being a chair on the Best Practice Committee and Website Committee.  One of the important projects that he headed was the ICCAC Remote Monitoring Survey which data will soon be published.

He is actively engaged with ASAIO and has been a speaker at the MPV program several times. Additionally, this person is considered an excellent coordinator at his hospital. He created a smart-phone APP to improve emergent management on VADs in his region.

One of the things I he should be recognized for is his ability accomplish these achievements while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.  He is devoted to his beautiful family while being passionate about the care of VAD patients.

This person embodies all the qualities of a VAD coordinator. He cares for his patients, he is an expert in the field, he is working to advance practice, and encourages other VAD coordinators to take leadership roles; all this while working as the solo coordinator at his center.  In conclusion, His positive outlook and strong leadership skills make him a deserving recipient of the 2020 ICCAC VAD Coordinator of the year award.
